Spectacular Day in Woodland Park

VinoNotesBooth1  VinoNotesBooth

Thanks to Aspen Peak Cellars , Orange Kat had a fantastic day yesterday at the Vino & Notes Wine Festival in Woodland Park!  The booth had an immediate line of tasters after the festival officially opened at noon.

We were set-up right across from Varaison Vineyards’ booth with their unique signage, were at a perfect distance from the stage to enjoy the music and still hold conversations and had a beautiful view of the natural scenery.

Sure, it rained a little, but we found that wine lovers are a hardy bunch!

The weather didn’t seem to “bug” anyone.

All around, it was a great day filled with fun people, good food, tasty wine, excellent music all in a lovely setting!

Hittin’ The Road

Orange Kat is loaded up and ready to hit the road for what should be an awesome day of great wine, delicious food and wicked good jazz!  Julie and Marcel, owners of Aspen Peak Cellars, are sharing their booth with us so we can display samples of our Wine Lovers product line and get our marketing materials in the hands of the other 16+ wineries who will also be running booths.  Looking for a beautiful drive and fun time?  Join us in Woodland Park at Vino & Notes!

Mountain Creek Naturals in the Greenhouse

Greenhouse

My favorite part of our house is pictured here….the greenhouse.  Steve started building it as an addition to the master bedroom after the spring storms finally finished dumping wet, heavy snow on our parched ground that had seen very little moisture in the first several months of the year.  I love snow and am hard pressed to ever complain about receiving much needed moisture in an area prone to igniting disastrous forest fires from the smallest spark, but as my seedlings began outgrowing our indoor greenhouses I found myself hoping for warm, dry weather so we could start constructing their new home.

The project took several Saturdays to finish and was worth every second of time invested in its completion.  Of course, that’s easy for me to say since Steve was the designer and laborer for all phases of the venture while I was responsible for a bit of staining and what will be many years of enjoyment.  Fortunately, Steve is also sharing in the enjoyment of watching what began as little seeds become beautiful, lush plants that are producing delicious fruits and vegetables.

We’ve been using our own creation, Mountain Creek Naturals Plant and Garden Spray (available at Orange Kat and Etsy) to grow happy, healthy houseplants for a couple years now.  I’d love to say that our supplement is solely responsible for our successes in the greenhouse, but we have to give credit where it is due.  We received a great recommendation for Fox Farms Organic Fertilizers and have been thrilled with the results of adding these great products to our own! Our greenhouse results have far exceeded our hopes and expectations which has built our confidence in our abilities to grow our own food and has fueled plans for expanding the variety of plants we grow next year.  Fox Farms products can be found at Amazon and for those of you living off the 285 corridor, we received friendly, knowledgeable service at Bailey Garden and Gifts and will be returning there soon to replenish our stock.
